Italian made IBICI 15D 100% Nylon sheer Pantyhose
Durable, glass effect, flat-seam gusset pantyhose.
After decades of wearing tights in pursuit of comfort, durability, and aesthetics, I’ve tried all kinds of materials—lycra, spandex, microfiber. But I had forgotten that the essence of pantyhose, their origin, is nylon.
When I was young, we called them “nylon stockings,” and they were all thigh-highs. Upon a close friend’s recommendation, I decided to try this 15D non-elastic nylon pantyhose. The moment I put them on, I felt like I had returned to the roots of hosiery.
First Impressions and Fitting
Since nylon inherently lacks elasticity, I was surprised by how long the tights were when I opened the package—they looked even longer than my legs, which reach to my waist! Once on, though, they fit perfectly, you have to select the right size based on your height and weight.
The key charm of nylon stockings lies in the subtle wrinkles they create. For an extra touch of allure, you can size up slightly, allowing a hint of those sexy folds to appear around the ankles or behind the knees, adding a unique charm to your legs.
The texture isn’t silky smooth; it has a slight firmness and a subtle roughness characteristic of nylon, yet it conforms flawlessly to the skin.
Though labeled 15D, the thickness feels incredibly sheer. I chose Chamois color, and it was absolutely perfect. The pinnacle of nude tights is achieving the “barely-there” effect, making people wonder if you’re even wearing them. This ethereal quality seems to be unique to nylon, thanks to its ultra sheer and non-reflective nature, creating an exceptional visual experience. Up close about 50cm away, you might discern the delicate weave pattern of the nylon tights.
This was my first time experiencing the “vintage stocking ” this production line has been around 65 years.
The greatest advantage of non-elastic tights is that they don’t stretch to the point of color distortion, nor do they create a tight, constricted feeling.
IBICI 15D features a flat-seam gusset, with a moderately elastic waistband. The gusset material differs slightly from the non-elastic nylon legs, offering a touch of elasticity, which is why it’s crucial to choose the correct size for your body type. The fit was excellent—there was no tightness around the hips, and squatting felt completely unrestricted.
Design and Details
Compared to normal pantyhose, these are relatively high-waisted. The waistband sits about 7cm above the navel when worn. The slight elasticity of the waistband ensures it stays flat without rolling down, providing a snug and comfortable fit.
The heel shape is essential. Without it, the ankles would gather in unattractive folds. While this detail isn’t obvious when the tights are laid flat, it becomes noticeable upon wearing. The heels are reinforced subtly, with a material almost indistinguishable from the rest of the tights. The toes are also reinforced similarly. This design ensures that the tights look flawless with any footwear, including open-toe sandals.
The leg sections are crafted with contour-specific weaving, allowing the tights to fit the calves and thighs perfectly. When laid flat, they resemble the shape of a painted leg. Despite the lack of stretch, the on-body experience is one of comfort and precision.
